Position Overview
The Sweeper Truck Operator is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety across a variety of locations, including roadways, parking lots, and construction sites. via the operation of specialized equipment such as street sweepers and blowers. Position also involves the safe and efficient operation of a Water Truck which delivers water to dirt crews, paving crews and pit areas for dust control and grade work.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Operate street sweepers and blowers to clear assigned areas of debris and hazards.
- Operate water trucks to contain dust in outdoor and indoor areas of work sites.
- Knowledge of different types of material and grades they are spraying.
- Follow predetermined routes and schedules to ensure timely and thorough cleaning.
- Ability to maneuver and navigate safely through various environments, from busy streets to work zones.
- Report mechanical or operational issues to maintenance teams or supervisors.
- Maintain the sweeper with routine tasks such as oil changes, brush swaps, and hopper cleanouts.
- Accurately log all cleaning activities and equipment usage.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures at all times.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate efforts.
- Interact professionally with customers when needed.
- Assist with planning and prioritizing daily cleaning tasks as part of a collaborative team.
