A growing mid-sized law firm in Chicago has an immediate need for a trusts & estates, probate and guardianship paralegal with 6+ years of experience. Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, orders and court documents, including documents to open and close probate estates, and various pleadings necessary in guardianship proceedings; complete probate and trust administration for estates; assisting clients with locating and collecting estate and trust assets; creating guardianship, estate, and trust accountings; coordinating asset transfers and trust funding in accordance with client direction, estate planning documents and / or court orders by communicating with relevant parties when necessary for all relevant assets such as bank accounts, brokerage accounts, mutual funds, stocks, insurance policies and others; handling the collection and distribution of trust, estate, or guardianship assets; assisting attorneys with discovery and other estate and trust litigation matters, including written discovery requests, discovery production review, subpoenas, and citations. Bachelor’s degree is required, and a paralegal certificate is preferred. Salary up to $100k with comprehensive benefits.
