Part-Time Front Office Receptionist

The Part-Time Front Office Receptionist will be responsible for performing timely and accurate patient registration while providing exceptional customer service. This role involves verifying patient insurance coverage, utilizing medical systems, and following established policies and procedures to create a welcoming environment for patients and visitors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Greets patients and visitors in person or on the phone and answers inquiries or directs them appropriately.
- Logs patient arrival in the Practice Management System (EMR).
- Identifies patients through date of birth and name, creating new accounts if necessary.
- Prepares required patient paperwork prior to appointments.
- Contacts "No Show" patients to reschedule appointments; updates notes in the Practice Management System.
- Enhances patient satisfaction and optimizes provider time by scheduling appointments and addressing patient concerns.
- Responds to patients in distress and assists during emergencies with good judgment.
- Updates information in the Practice Management System and obtains new patient information as needed.
- Verifies insurance eligibility and informs the billing department of any prior authorization requirements.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
- Collects patient copays and balances during check-in / check-out.
- Ensures patient confidentiality and protects sensitive information.
- Follows operational policies and procedures, reporting any changes as needed.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service consistently.
- Answers phone calls promptly and courteously.
- Communicates professionally with patients, visitors, and medical staff.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager.
