Job Summary
The Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library is seeking a thoughtful, passionate, user-focused library aide to join our Public Services and Interlibrary Loans department.
Responsibilities
As a part-time library aide, you’ll be responsible for the main desk of the Eccles Health Sciences Library. This position can also involve a variety of requests and projects.
Successful library aides are flexible and willing to acquire new skills with on-the-job training.
Library aides will be expected to provide high-quality service to the patrons of the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library.
Primary public services duties include welcoming patrons, assisting patrons with print and electronic resources, answering in-person, phone, chat or email questions, assisting with software applications, checking out materials, and performing other transactions using the library’s software systems.
Secondary duties include assisting with interlibrary loan ( ILL ) (database and online catalog searching, the utilization of specialized software, scanning and processing of requests, and assisting patrons with ILL accounts).
Other projects have included statistics gathering, archiving, graphic design, and marketing. We encourage people from all disciplines to apply.

Minimum Qualifications
Six months clerical or customer service experience required or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience);
demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
