Our client, a Prestigious Non-Profit located in Attleboro, seeks a VP of Finance to join their team.
The Vice President of Finance is responsible for the administration and oversight of the agency’s financial planning and management functions. This position supports sound fiscal operations by maintaining strong internal controls, accurate reporting systems, and effective financial practices across all programs. The Vice President of Finance supervises finance staff and ensures that departments receive timely and value-added financial guidance. The role requires a hands‑on leader with advanced technical knowledge and the ability to support a large, multi‑site human services organization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior management lead on all financial matters.
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Lead the monthly close process and verify all financial activities.
- Develop and maintain internal controls for revenue, expenses, and program budgets.
- Review and analyze financial data and prepare monthly reports for the President & CEO.
- Lead the annual budget planning process and keep senior leadership informed of financial status.
- Oversee budget performance and cash flow for ongoing operations and new initiatives.
- Manage forecasting for administrative functions, existing programs, and potential expansions.
- Oversee contracts management to ensure timely billing and cash flow.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit and act as liaison with external auditors.
- Supervise finance staff, provide evaluations, training, and role clarity to strengthen department performance.
- Strengthen internal communication across departments to support financial understanding and collaboration.
- Review and update financial policies, procedures, and department manuals.
- Prepare financial reports for the President & CEO and the Board of Directors.
- Coordinate and document Finance Committee meetings.
- Oversee filing of corporate income tax returns.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and process monthly depreciation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with banking partners, DDS contract staff, and other external stakeholders.
- Serve as Corporate Compliance Officer; prepare and present the annual Corporate Compliance report.
- Follow agency policies, maintain confidentiality, and support a positive working environment.
- Adjust schedules and assignments as needed based on agency needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in accounting preferred.Minimum of ten years of senior management experience in finance.CPA preferred but not required.Nonprofit or health care financial experience strongly preferred.Hands‑on experience with journal entries, closing books, reconciliations, reporting, and presenting financial statements.Experience working with 501(c)(3) entities and public‑sector funding; familiarity with DDS or similar state funding preferred.Ability to manage a finance operation supporting $35–$40 million in revenue, 30+ locations, and approximately 400 employees.Strong analytical skills and the ability to produce accurate work within defined timelines.Commitment to teamwork and supporting the mission of the organization.Demonstrated strength in communication and presentations.Valid driver’s license and willingness to use personal vehicle for business purposes.Acceptable CORI and fingerprint check.Salary
Salary range : $150,000–$165,000 per year.
