We are looking for a Hospital Manager to ensure the highest quality of patient care and operational success of our new Mesa location.
Position Overview :
The Hospital Manager is a high visibility position that provides opportunities to foster and grow your career within a specialized veterinary surgical unit.
The Hospital Manager is the lifeline of the business and an essential part of the growth & expansion of Dr. Kelly’s Surgical Unit.
This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring that all associates are held accountable to our shared principles and maintain a culture of integrity.
The successful candidate is comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced roll up your sleeves, independent environment while managing the most intricate details with precision to ensure quality of care and clinic goals are met and maintained.
This includes but is not limited to surgical efficiency, technician compliance, client satisfaction and clinic success. The Hospital Manager is the primary point of contact for technician issues and business communications for our Mesa location.
As manager, you will work alongside your team guiding and educating them on our standard operating procedures. The Mesa team is made up of 8 surgical veterinary technicians including 1 lead nurses and 2 DVM’s.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure accountability of all clinical staff against set roles and responsibilities using performance improvement plans as needed
- Identify gaps in technician knowledge, take ownership to bring them up to standard
- Quarterly technician skills assessments
- Train new medical staff in accordance with company guidelines and expectations
- Identify inconsistencies in unit procedures and create processes to improve daily workflow
- Conduct staff meetings on a regular cadence to ensure an efficient and positive work environment is maintained
- Handling unit specific issues and problems (staffing, mechanical, equipment, customers, etc.)
- Auditing daily and weekly unit schedules for inconsistencies
- Auditing patient notes to ensure detailed compliance and thoroughness
- Active liaison between Leadership team and technician staff
- Veterinary Technician Duties
Key Metrics :
- Revenue per unit hour
- Hospital production
- Full capacities on calendar
- Fully staffed / trained unit
- Unit scorecard score of 80% or better
- Employee turnover rate less than 5%
- Monthly Employee happiness score of 90% or better
Qualifications :
- 3+ years of veterinary clinic supervision
- 5+ years of veterinary technician experience
- 2+ years of veterinary surgery experience, with a clear understanding of the unique operational needs of surgical units
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skill
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and experience using PIMS systems
