Description

As an Associate Product Manager or Product Manager, you will guide a team that is responsible for increasing the profitability of existing products as well as developing innovative new products for the organization.

You possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, big-picture strategic thinking, and the ability to make day to day tactical decisions as well.

You will spend time researching the existing market, finding new markets for your product line, understanding customer needs and problems, and creating products that address them.

You must be a great communicator as you will work cross-functionally with multiple departments - Engineering, Marketing, Procurement, Sales, Quality, and Manufacturing.

In short, you will be the evangelist for your product line, helping the team build products that customers love.

As a PRODUCT MANAGER, YOU WILL :

  • Proactively manage new product development deliverables in harmony with established NPD procedures including customer and third-party coordination
  • Analyze competitive products, product line strategies, strengths, and weaknesses
  • Analyze and synthesize market dynamics, legislation, competitive assessments, segmentation analysis, and end user needs with product application expertise to generate a stream of new product development ideas
  • Evaluate new product idea potential and practicality with respect to market opportunities and their effect on present products, and exploit economically attractive opportunities
  • Develop the business case and financial justification for product line initiatives
  • Manage all aspects of the product life cycle, including SKU management, product line sales and profitability, cost reduction opportunities, quality / reliability improvements, competitive pricing / positioning, forecasting, and end-of-life planning.

Assess product line performance and implement appropriate actions

  • Keep abreast and knowledgeable of delivery performance, capacity utilization, engineering product changes and customer quality acceptance
  • Serve as Electronics & Controls liaison to appropriate industry associations providing market, product, and application expertise.

Assist with internal market research, and create training and promotional materials

Interact and work cooperatively with all levels of internal staff

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS :

  • BS in Engineering or Business / Marketing, or the equivalent in practical experience.
  • Understanding of product management and technical specifications
  • Co-op or internship experience in a relatable field
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
  • Proven business communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Highly skilled in developing and delivering presentations to a wide variety of audience

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS

  • MBA preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of marketing dynamics as they apply to a technical manufacturing operation
  • Proven managerial skills in dealing with product lines
  • Minimum of - years product management related work experience
  • Working knowledge of the markets, products, customers, and competitors in the HVAC industry, preferably as it relates to mechanical controls

We offer the flexibility of a core hour work schedule. Employees can flex their start and stop times given they are working during the core hours of : am - : pm.
