Job Description
Support student success and safety in a rewarding school-based role as a Substitute Paraprofessional. This position provides academic and behavioral assistance to students, including those with special needs, in general or specialized classroom settings. Assignments are flexible and based on school availability.
Qualified candidates must have :
Valid CPR certification (required)
Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification (required)
Experience working with children or youth in educational, behavioral, or care settings
Ability to maintain calm in high-energy or escalated situations
Strong communication and follow-through with school staff
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Ability to meet district background and compliance requirements
Responsibilities include :
Assisting with student behavior management, de-escalation, and redirection
Supporting instructional activities under the direction of classroom teachers
Monitoring and ensuring student safety throughout the school day
Assisting students with mobility, hygiene, and physical needs as needed
Supervising during lunch, recess, and transitions between classes
Working one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce lessons
