Here's how a Project Accountant for our California Buildings office contributes to our team : Responsibilities + Performs clerical and data entry support to meet contractual requirements for operational and basic accounting. + Processes all accounts payable and accounts received in a timely and accurate manner. + Provides project teams with ad hoc reports and analysis as the need arises. + Assists with the assembly of information for internal and external financial reporting requirements. + Assembles client billings packages in accordance with contract terms and conditions and ensures timely payment. + Prepares bank deposits and cash receipt entries. Qualifications + High school diploma. + Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related field is considered an asset. + Some student experience or 6 months to 1 year of accounting or administrative experience is preferred. + Exposure to project forecasting and budgeting. + Basic understanding of accounting principles, including maintenance of ledgers and cash flows. + Exposure to project costing principles, recoveries, insurance, and contract / subcontract requirements as related to accounting + Exposure to subcontract purchase order terms, including insurance and subcontractor default insurance requirements. + Basic understanding of lien rights. + Ability to act with the required discretion when handling confidential information. + Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software is an asset. The salary range for this position is between $64,000 to $86,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
