Director of Operations- New York City
Our client, a luxury jewelry designer is looking for a dynamic and strategically-minded Director of Operations to manage a small office. They are a small but fast-growing wholesale fine jewelry company in the luxury market segment, with a family-like environment.
Overall duties :
- Organizing & coordinating office operations for immediate tasks & long-term projects, with daily updates
- Manage a small staff ensuring their productivity & efficiency and overseeing their daily tasks
- Manage inventory, reconcile monthly sales and movement of inventory
- Supervise jewelry repairs
- Manage & communicate with retail accounts & private clients
- Merchandise planning, product allocations and sale-related tasks
- Store visits, including trunk shows
- Marketing : social media, online management, packaging, etc.
Skills :
The ideal candidate should have 8-10+ years of experience in wholesale jewelry, with emphasis on operations, wholesale sales & merchandising.The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools like MS Excel.Proficiency with Excel for compiling reports is required.Meticulous attention-to-detail is a must.The candidate should have previous experience managing a team, be self motivated, proactive, detail oriented and well versed in the wholesale jewelry industry.The candidate will work closely with the Founder in reviewing and analyzing sales reports and working on retail strategy.They are looking for someone who will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and collaborative environment.
