Job descriptionProvide real-time Hmong English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings. Deliver interpretation with accuracy, impartiality, and cultural sensitivity. Maintain strict confidentiality in line with USCIS / DHS standards. Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent / surge calls. Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews. Native or near-native fluency in Hmong and English. 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, community, medical, or legal preferred). Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness. Strong communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure. Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3 / Tier 5 clearance. Competitive pay : $2835 / hour (rare-language premium). Remote work via secure USCIS-approved systems. Paid training and continuing professional development. Consistent workload under a federal contract. Career advancement opportunities in quality assurance and linguist leadership. Resume / CV highlighting Hmong interpreting experience. Any certifications or community interpreting credentials (preferred). Availability for full-time or contractor assignments.

We are seeking Hmong Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Hmong is a rare language of critical need in immigration and asylum cases, making this role essential to ensuring applicants have equitable access to services.
