This EHS Supervisor role will support the PV operations. The EHS team, along with the support of the entire organization, will be on the front line of environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, factory safety and risk management. Initially this position will be an individual contributor's position supported by internal & external expertise as needed. As operations and other needs grow this role will be expected to support a team of engineers to meet the expectations of the organization. The EH&S Supervisor position will be the lead safety officer for the company's PV operation. This will be a highly visible leadership position spanning across all levels of the organization. Decision making must show sound judgement, have fundamental technical rationale, and weigh the risk / benefit for the client. The EH&S Supervisor will lead a team in implementing programs to manage risk, improving critical KPI's as well as meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements. Provide technical expertise and management direction in multiple EH&S disciplines including, but not limited to, chemical safety, process safety, equipment safety, ergonomics, hazardous waste management and environmental permitting. Work directly with the Process Development and Manufacturing teams to ensure that all safety programs, applicable safeguards and training programs are in place for existing equipment / process as well as guide new requirements. Where needed drive the development of specific safety and training programs. The client will be a 24 / 7 manufacturing operation. This position will build and maintain ERT responsibility for the factory. As issue arises, lead investigation and drive root cause corrective action as warranted. This position must be able to assess EH&S needs. In cases where internal resources are insufficient, we be able to effectively source and manage 3rd party resources to support needs. Ubiquity Solar new technology advancements need the design and modification of our process equipment. This position will work with these teams to provide timely inputs to the equipment and process design reviews, installation and start-up of equipment and processes.
Pay : $70K - $90K / yr Hours : 40 hrs / Week Length : Direct Placement
Required Skills : Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Environmental Science. Minimum 6 years of EH&S leadership experience in a complex manufacturing environment with an emphasis on semiconductor, thin film solar or chemical manufacturing. Minimum 6 years of experience with UX research fluency conducting studies and translating insights into actionable design decisions. Ability to speak, write, and read in Mandarin-Chinese Preferred Skills : Master's Degree Experience in leading EH&S in a fast-growing manufacturing company. Must possess active professional certification (CSP, IH or CHMM) Working knowledge of local environmental and operations regulations and demonstrated experience in interaction with these agencies. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across organizations without direct management responsibility. Prior experience in communicating complex EH&S matters to executive level staff.
