Livermore is seeking a Human Resources Technician - Confidential. Under general supervision, performs a variety of paraprofessional and technical duties involved in the administration of the City's Human Resources Department; performs technical and administrative duties related to specific human resources functions including classification and compensation, recruitment and selection, benefits, employee training and development, and employee relations; may provide administrative support to professional staff; and performs other duties as assigned.

This is a paraprofessional position with technical and specialized administrative responsibility in the operations of the human resources function. This classification performs a variety of human resources related assignments within broad procedural guidelines with minimal supervision and instruction. Requires specialized knowledge of citywide and Human Resources Department related policies, procedures, and practices as well as applicable federal and state laws and regulations. All responsibilities and duties must be performed in a confidential and tactful manner utilizing good judgment.

General supervision is provided by the Human Resources Programs Managers with some assignments given by the Director of Human Resources. May provide supervision or lead direction to the job classifications of Human Resources Clerk I and Human Resources Clerk II and / or temporary employees.

Incumbents provide general staff assistance and are assigned primary technical / administrative support in one or more specific areas of the human resources function, as described below. However, cross training is required in all areas in order to provide efficient and effective customer service.
