Marketing Director
The Director of Marketing is responsible for establishing and implementing marketing plans designed to capitalize on market opportunities. Additional responsibilities include market research, strategic planning for promotions and advertising in coordination with the internal and external sales and product manager teams. This position requires someone that is self-motivated, resourceful and possess strong communication and leadership skills.
Develop and implement an integrated strategic marketing and communications plans to advance brand awareness and positioning.
Oversee development of print & digital communications including product literature, catalogs, point of purchase materials, packaging, advertising, company reports and other materials as required.
Recommend, develop, deploy and manage a comprehensive web-based marketing strategy that includes websites, social media, email marketing, brand building & other customer facing digital tools.
Recommend, develop, deploy & manage a comprehensive strategy for marketing products & services across channels. Work closely with the VP of Sales & Marketing, & the Director of Sales to assess promotional opportunities, launch products into different channels, evaluate & prioritize opportunities to invest in customer demand creation tools, & achieve monthly & yearly sales goals.
Recommend, develop, deploy & manage marketing research initiatives, as required.
Recommend, develop, deploy & manage trade show & event marketing activities, as required.
Recommend, review, & manage press & media relationships, sponsored shows & personalities, and other brand related sponsorships.
Evaluate new media technologies including blogs, RSS, video and webcasts.
Collaborate with the organization to help forecast demand from promotional & new product launch activities. Helping to define & deploy necessary marketing budgets & programs to achieve sales objectives.
Support new product development and launch process by providing marketing strategies and the necessary budgets for launching new products.
Recommend for approval and manage a marketing budget for all related resources and capital purchases, including but not limited to branding, website, social media, advertising, content, sampling, and events that supports corporate goals.
Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Marketing Department including budgeting and planning.
Build, develop and manage marketing team.
Set short and long-term goals for internal team.
Develop and utilize metrics to drive the marketing budget and outcomes.
Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition, as required.
Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
Provide training and performance feedback to internal marketing staff to drive the achievement of marketing goals and develop marketing team.
Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
Prepare regular reports and presentations on marketing efforts for the Vice President for Sales and Marketing.
Represent the Company at trade shows to promote and sell product.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Education : Bachelor's Degree, MBA a plus
Minimum 5 years of experience in a Senior Marketing Management role in-house or with an agency
Skills / Qualifications :
Ability to travel up to 20%, including required trade season.
