Job Description

The Regional Sales Director of CMEMS will lead a team of clinical and market development personnel to achieve therapy adoption, market penetration and sales goals for the CMEMS Division. This role will develop and implement targeted training and therapy adoption plans to meet revenue and therapy penetration targets, and is responsible for hiring, coaching and developing CMEMS therapy experts and market development staff, while providing effective leadership to field personnel.

This geography includes Minneapolis, Portland and Seattle.

What You’ll Work On

  • Develop regional strategic plans to meet revenue, profitability, and market penetration goals.
  • Drive regional performance by aligning and executing critical sales and service strategies and tactics.
  • Develop programs that generate additional sales revenue by increasing referrals of eligible patients to implanting physicians.
  • Collaborate with the field team to identify strategies to increase referrals and overcome barriers to national growth and adoption of the therapy.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to field sales and support staff through field visits and performance measurement.
  • Oversee training strategies and market development plans to ensure the sales teams have the skills and tools to drive adoption and revenue targets.
  • Lead talent management within the region, including high-quality talent acquisition and development.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, KOLs and industry leaders.
  • Maintain understanding of technology in a competitive environment.
  • Manage and own P&L for the region with finance alignment.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships within Abbott and with competitive customers.
  • Ensure quality policy / system is planned, understood, implemented and maintained within the department.
  • Ensure departmental compliance and availability of resources (people, facilities, tools, training).
  • Engage with clients, address questions and concerns, and monitor information about new and existing products and competitors.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 3-5 years of successful sales leadership experience, preferably within the medical device industry.
  • Well organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent personal computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse environment.
  • Ability to work both in a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to leverage and engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Experience with direct quota attainment and performance metrics.
  • Schedule flexibility for case coverage and client meetings after hours and weekends.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50% of the time.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA and / or multi-product / therapy sales management experience.
  • 8+ years medical device sales experience.
  • Priority will be given to candidates who can think strategically and execute tactically.
