The Opportunity : This position works out of our Alameda, CA office in the Lingo division and reports to Lingos Global Head of Partnerships. Lingo is a new biosensing technology that provides users a window into their body. Lingo tracks key biomarkers such as glucose, ketones, and lactate to help people make better decisions about their health and nutrition. Biowearable technology will digitize, decentralize, and democratize healthcare, enabling consumers to take control of their own health.
As the Global Strategic Partnerships Manager, you will establish and manage all Lingo strategic partnerships by building senior level relationships, identifying innovative solutions to maximize growth, and providing ongoing account management including detailed planning and sales forecasting. This position requires direct responsibility managing large, complex, enterprise-level partnerships and experience selling to the 'C suite' or senior executives. While this role does not have direct reports, you must be able to influence without authority, and lead cross-divisional collaboration to provide a One Abbott approach to target partners.
What You'll Do
Initiate and maintain relationships with potential partners in future transactions. Attend trade shows to gather market intelligence and meet with potential partner companies. Evaluate digital health companies' fit with divisions data sharing strategy. Under guidance of Director support alliance management functions associated with existing partners, including cross-functional alignment on issues, being the interface between the external and internal stakeholders and maintaining quarterly calls with each global partner. Work with internal stakeholders to identify areas of interest for transactions and to help evaluate potential partners. Support cross-functional diligence teams to identify, assess and make recommendations regarding transaction risks and opportunities. Evaluate potential digital health players and develop term sheets for potential partnerships under the guidance of the Director. Perform research using secondary sources to analyze digital health opportunities or landscape areas of interest. Utilize internal or external groups to get feedback on business development strategies. Leverage connections in digital health start up community to identify potential partners for division. Under guidance of Director, prepare succinct and comprehensive presentations for senior management with overviews, analyses and financials of specific transactions under consideration. Contribute to periodic reporting to executive management regarding business development activity. Support deal structure and development. Support deal negotiations to provide and protect value for the division. Work with Finance and cross-functional team to develop financial models with reasonable assumptions. Manage multiple projects and evaluations under tight timelines. Execution of new partners.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related sciences. 5+ years total business experience; minimum 2 years of proven sales or partnerships experience, selling into senior executives. Prior experience in sourcing and deal execution of new transactions / partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven ability to build long term strategic and senior level relationships and demonstrated capability to develop a large complex organizations strategic long-term plan and short-term tactics. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to meet clearly defined objectives that benefit the company and customer. Ability to effectively communicate, speak in public, and adapt to rapidly changing environments. The candidate must have executive level business and financial acumen, strong team leadership skills and knowledge of all products and services. They should be an expert in 'getting things done' within the company. Strong negotiation skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Additionally must have strong internal and external networking skills with robust inter-personal skills that will develop and enhance long term relationships. Comfort working in a fast-paced and high-ambiguity environment that values self-direction, critical thinking, creative problem-solving, rapid learning, and 'wearing multiple hats'. Excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills. Prior experience in fitness, wellness, wearable or medical device industry.
