Established in 1926, Mutual Trading Co., Inc. was originally a small co-op organization for centralized purchasing of basic import foods to service the needs of the early Japanese immigrant society in Southern California.

Since 2011, our affiliate, Yamasho Inc. taken pride in providing a variety of restaurant items ranging from non-food to dry and frozen food products to our restaurant customers in its current location in Elk Grove, IL.

Location : Elk Grove Village, IL

Hours : M-F : 8 AM 5 PM, 1 hour lunch, OT may apply

Pay range : $18-22 / h

Essential Job Functions :

• Process customer payments by recording cash, check, and credit card transactions
• Ensure proper documentation of payments with reports
• Work with the customers and sales teams to ensure collection of upcoming payments and resolve overdue payments
• Maintain proper filing and record-keeping procedures
• Process refunds, and returned checks
• Create credit memos for overpayments and underpayments
• Work with customers to clear delinquent payments
• Generate emails and comply with customers' requests for receipts
• Process weekly statements and email statements to customers as requested
• Maintain data to ensure proper distribution of statements, including monitoring payments requested
• Produce bi-weekly statement report for review
• Open new customer files in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Other duties as required by the manager
• Obligation to answer to all management as requested

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to type and use the computer for extended periods of time
• Ability to reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds

Other Requirements :

• Business level English - read / write / speak / listen

• Ability to work on a deadline and accomplish tasks error-free
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or other relevant fields preferred
• 2+ years of experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills :

• Basic mathematical knowledge - markups, discounts, currency, etc.
• 10-Key functioning at an experienced level
• Problem-solving skills
• Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency
• Professional, courteous communication and interpersonal skills required
• Exceptional organization and time management skills
• Experience with bank reconciliation and tracking credit card transactions
• Knowledgeable protocols regarding confidential information
