Job description

UPMC Shadyside is hiring a Surgery Scheduler to support our busy and highly collaborative Surgical Services departments- home to 24 state-of-the-art operating rooms. If you're detail-oriented, proactive, and ready to make a meaningful difference in the surgical care experience, we want to hear from you!

Schedule :

  • Monday-Friday, daylight hours
  • No weekends, holidays, or overnight shifts required!

What You'll Do :

  • Coordinate and schedule surgeries
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with surgeons, clinical staff, and hospital departments
  • Obtain pre-certifications and ensure insurance information is accurate and up to date
  • Track surgical utilization via internal tracking systems
  • Collaborate on special projects as assigned
  • Act as a trusted liaison between physicians, clinical, and administrative teams

    • Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a medical assisting program or 2 years' experience in a medical field required.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology preferred.
  • Previous scheduling experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of computer software and practice management databases is essential.
  • Ability to deal compassionately and professionally with patients is essential.
