Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist
Our client is a commercial real estate services provider actively growing its commercial portfolio in Northern California with a focus on sustainability and diversity that needs a strong, Junior Accountant.
There's no remote opportunity with this role.
Job Description - The Junior Accountant will be primarily responsible for supporting the accounting and compliance functions.
This individual will be highly motivated, possess superior team support skills, excellent time management, organizational and communication skills.
This individual must also be comfortable multi-tasking and maintaining a strong ability to manage expectations amongst the team.
Additional responsibilities for the Junior Accountant include the following :
Responsibilities Include :
- Assist with posting and payment of union related benefits and trust funds.
- Assist with completion of monthly, quarterly and annually close process.
- Analyze project cost to ensure accuracy of amounts allocated to projects including payroll, material cost, overhead allocations, and direct purchases.
- Review vendor invoices for reasonableness, obtain approvals and code for submission to A / P department.
- Obtain supporting documentation and code monthly bills.
- Monitor, reconcile, and complete monthly journal entries for assigned accounts.
- Gather support for interim and year-end audit test selections.
- Prepares reconciling and audit work papers on general ledger accounts and assists with gathering support for audits.
- Assist in gathering data as needed for preparation of annual budget.
- Assist with new Accounting and Finance projects as they arise.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 5 years accounting experience
- 10-key by touch
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Experience with payroll processing is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills; must be detail oriented, ability to multi-task
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial systems.
Education
Bachelor's degree preferred.

- $70K - $75K / yrly
