Make an Impact as an Early Childhood Center Manager

You will lead a center program that is a model Early Head Start and Head Start site. You will ensure that all standards are met that provide a safe and healthy environment for the children in the center, including NAEYC, Head Start, state licensing, local requirements and building grounds and sanitation.

In addition, you will manage all center staff positions and activities in the areas of education, social services, parent involvement, health, mental health, special services, and food services.

Position Details

Responsibilities

Center Management : Facilitates and maintains current documentation and certificates to ensure compliance with federal, state, local regulations, and CCG program standards and NAEYC standards.

Ensures building repairs and other maintenance needs are reported and corrected in a timely manner. Ensures that the center is maintained as an exemplary site ready for tours from donors, public officials, educators, & other visitors.

  • Monitors Program Service Delivery : Manages activities related to service delivery of education, social services, parent involvement, health, mental health and special services and nutrition services.
  • Supervision : Supervises and ensures staff compliance to company personnel policies and procedures, as well as compliance with all CCG policies and procedures including but not limited to EEO / Affirmative Action, ADA, Conduct, Conflict of Interest, Solicitations and Safety, Child Abuse and Neglect, and Integrity.
  • Budgeting : Participates in the development and preparation of center budget and monitors monthly center expenditures.
  • Community Collaboration : Communicates and participates with community agencies, companies and other groups and services to articulate program goals and needs.
  • Database Maintenance : Requires the acquisition of knowledge and proficiency of the Head Start Electronic Information System, ChildPlus, and / or Redelearner Database within the introductory period of employment.

ChildCareGroup will train the employee either directly or through the Database Training Department of Head Start of Greater Dallas, Inc.

  • Monitors and maintains inventory of supplies monthly.
  • Assists with the development of criteria to create Centers of Excellence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Social Work required. Master’s Degree Preferred. A combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Early Childhood Education with some courses in business administration and personnel management (Early Childhood Director’s Certificate preferred)

Minimum of 5-7 years successful management experience with significant financial accountability required; Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience required.

Also, two (2) years' work in a social service and child care setting required

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the child growth and development and or family studies, day care programming, curriculum planning and programming for individual child’s needs
  • Professional leadership skills and the ability to function as a team member
  • Excellent analytical, communication, planning, and organizing skills
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with the public
  • Comply with all CCG policies and procedures including but not limited to EEO / Affirmative Action, ADA, Conduct, Conflict of Interest, Solicitation and Safety, Child Abuse, and Integrity

Travel and Compliance Requirements

  • Must have a valid Texas driver's license
  • Driving record must comply with CCG's automobile insurance carrier requirements
  • Must have liability insurance coverage and reliable personal transportation
  • Ability to travel locally or out of town as required
  • Mileage reimbursement is offered when applicable
  • Must successfully meet all compliance background check requirements for federal funding throughout employment
