The faculty invites motivated and energetic applicants to be a part of a design program within a land-grant institution where faculty merge teaching, research, creative activity, and service to the university and community.

The College of Architecture and the Landscape Architecture Program pursue an innovative design research curriculum in which faculty interests, evolving pedagogies, and engagement combine in a creative environment that balances experimentation with professional and environmental responsibility.

Uniting degree programs in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Community and Regional Planning, and various minors including Product Design, the College promotes cross-disciplinary collaboration while maintaining a commitment to academic accreditation, student performance, and service to the future of its constituent professions.

The College of Architecture at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks accomplished and highly motivated candidates to build on the excellence achieved in the Landscape Architecture Program and to lead and contribute to the collaborative teaching and research environment.

Our undergraduate Landscape Architecture Program is the only accredited Landscape Architecture program in the state. Candidates for this position should have demonstrated capabilities in academic leadership, a record of excellence in design teaching, and outstanding creative activity and / or scholarship.

As the Program Director of the Landscape Architecture Program, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing an inclusive vision for the future development of the program by building on the unique strengths of the faculty and students, leading the program to realize that vision, and contributing to the pedagogical and scholarly success of the program.

Program Director Administrative Responsibilities

  • Leadership in overseeing the program’s curriculum and instruction.
  • Support for faculty development.
  • Acquisition of external resources for program initiatives.
  • Active engagement in student recruitment.
  • Building community within the school and profession.
  • Participate in program teaching and scholarly activity.

Minimum Required Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in landscape architecture (M.L.A)
  • Outstanding record in teaching, research, and service, enabling appointment at the rank of Associate Professor.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Ph.D. degree, professional licensure in Landscape Architecture, or an additional master’s degree in a related field.
  • Administrative experience in academia and accreditation of professional programs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to faculty development and mentoring.
  • Proven excellence in community-centered teaching and scholarly activities.
