Experienced Veterinary Assistant

Our busy and progressive 24-hour General and Emergency Referral Practice is in need of an experienced Veterinary Assistant.

VCA Mueller Pet Medical Center is a leading emergency medical provider in the Sacramento area. Our hospital is AAHA accredited.

The success of our hospital relies upon our great medical care and our team caring for the dogs and cats entrusted to us.

The pet's well-being and comfort are always the number one priority with our staff. Our Technicians are an integral part in the overall flow and function of the hospital.

This full-time position requires competency in both patient care and client service.

Requirements

• Two years previous veterinary experience preferred
• Has a passion for animals and genuinely enjoys working with them
• Is able to effectively care for cats and dogs even when they are stressed, ill or in pain
• Has the ability to multi-task in a high pressure environment with exceptional accuracy
• Detail-oriented, organized, motivated, committed and self-directed
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Has a positive, professional and can-do attitude
• Has dependable job attendance and can be relied on to follow through with assigned tasks
• Able to prioritize and complete tasks independently
• Able to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Must be flexible and willing to work one weekend day per week
