Position Summary

Sony AI America (SAIA) is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven AI engineer with expertise in building and supporting AI research applications.

We’re currently looking for smart, enthusiastic people who want to join our team of world-renowned researchers as we push the boundaries applying AI in support of human creativity.

In this role, the successful candidate will build reusable AI infrastructure, assist researchers, and integrate with cloud infrastructure to support large scale machine learning in challenging domains like computer games.

Responsibilities :

Implement and maintain AI libraries for running reinforcement learning and machine learning experiments

Support research experiments and analysis

Proactively seek out engineering requirements of the research team

Debug and fix performance bottlenecks

Develop and maintain CI / CD best practices and continue to improve team processes

Qualifications :

Bachelors or equivalent experience in computer science, software engineering, or related fields

Experience with python development

Passion for making reliable, easy-to-use tools

Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills including the ability to articulate to both technical and non-technical audiences

Bonus points for :

Knowledge of tensorflow, jax, pytorch, and similar tools

Knowledge of machine learning and reinforcement learning

Experience with programming in C, C++, and / or rust

Experience with distributed computing, game engines, high performance computing, and / or hardware acceleration

The anticipated annual base salary for this position in the US is $120,000 to $160,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.

The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and / or from which they will be performing the job.
