The UC Irvine School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences is the first public pharmacy school in the Los Angeles-Orange County region. Its faculty and programs span a continuum from discovery, development, and delivery of new drugs, devices, and diagnostics all the way to optimizing medication therapy in patients and patient populations. The school offers a BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences, MS in Pharmacology, PhD in Pharmacological Sciences, and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).

As part of the Susan & Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences, we actively collaborate with schools and programs in medicine, nursing, and population, public health, and the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute to educate, train, and mentor the next generation of pharmaceutical scientists and clinical pharmacists. The school's mission is to be a driving force for advancing health and wellness of individuals and society.

Your Role on the Team

Implements and coordinates building management procedures and space management activities for the School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences. Develops strategic facilities plans and translates them into operational workflows that support the school's mission and growth objectives. Implements and makes recommendations for new and revised procedures and oversees various facilities-related operational activities. Applies skills as a seasoned, experienced facilities professional with a full understanding of facilities management frameworks, strategic planning, relevant policies and procedures to resolve a wide range of issues. Demonstrates competency in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions. Manages facilities initiatives of diverse scope, size, impact, and budget. Has general knowledge about several operational functions. Receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on new assignments.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required :

  • Thorough project management skills, including skill to manage complex projects.
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication skills including political acumen and social perceptiveness. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse populations with competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to work on several tasks simultaneously. Skill at responding effectively to priorities and setting deadlines.
  • Abilities in problem identification, reasoning, and ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; diplomacy skills.
  • Highly developed judgment, decision-making and problem recognition / avoidance / resolution skills, including skill in determining those issues / problems that need to be brought to management's attention.
  • Experience maintaining a high standard of productivity within a broad scope of responsibility despite frequent interruptions. Ability to complete large volume of diverse tasks efficiently, meeting established deadlines.
  • Ability to give clear directives and use independent, rational judgment to make optimal decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

Preferred :

  • Thorough knowledge of the campus, its vision, mission, programs, policies,achievements and infrastructure. Knowledge of University policies and procedures relating to the use of University facilities, event management and presentation.
  • Knowledge and skill to set and monitor work standards and protocols.
