The Senior Tax Manager in the Financial Services Practice oversees tax compliance and consulting for financial institutions and financial services companies. This role includes technical reviews, ASC 740 expertise, engagement management, identifying tax issues, business development, and leading a high-performing tax team. The position is designed as a future leadership opportunity for an ambitious and forward-thinking professional.
Key responsibilities include developing, managing, and strengthening client relationships, anticipating client needs and consulting on complex and emerging tax matters, performing technical reviews of corporate tax accounting, collaborating across service lines to provide comprehensive business solutions, building and expanding a professional network to support new business efforts, continuously expanding technical knowledge and supporting professional development, holding yourself and team members accountable for business development goals, recruiting, developing, and motivating tax professionals, and setting and achieving stretch goals that contribute to the firm's continued success.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law; master's in Tax/LLM preferred, 7+ years of recent public accounting experience, strong background in corporate tax accounting and ASC 740 (highly preferred), CPA certification required, demonstrated leadership and project management skills, excellent written and verbal communication, networking, and relationship-building abilities, experience with tax software and technology, and ability to multitask and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning.
