We are looking for dynamic bartenders with a great attitude who are aligned with our company’s core values. River Roast is an American contemporary restaurant located on the river on the North Side of La Salle, with an incredible patio on the river in one of the best buildings in Chicago.

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages to guests in the bar area in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and company liquor regulations regarding the service of alcoholic beverages, including service to minors and intoxicated guests.

• Set up assigned bars by requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice, and produce.

• Maintain stock, prepare, cut, and properly store fresh fruit, vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables to ensure product quality.

• Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner.

• Take and process drink orders.

• Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes while practicing proper portion control.

• Check guest identification at the bar when required.

• Detect and respond appropriately to guest intoxication, following training and liquor law guidelines.

• Receive cash from guests, make change, verify charges, record transactions, and ensure vouchers are properly completed.

• Secure all beverage products, food, equipment, deposits, cash drops, and bank at the end of the shift.

• Perform general cleaning duties to maintain health and safety standards.

• Keep the bar area clean, organized, and visually appealing.

• Arrange bottles and glassware to maintain an attractive display.

• Wash and sterilize stemware.

• Lift and move at least one full keg, approximately 55 lbs.

• Remain on your feet for extended periods of time.

• Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
