Finance / Accounting / Billing Specialist
Our client, a well established, boutique, multi office Law firm is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller / Finance / Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting department staff and ensure the smooth financial operations of our organization.
Key responsibilities include :
- Monitoring time entries in LSS and notifying all employees regarding prebill printing and expense reports
- Generating and printing prebills monthly and preparing partner fee reports
- Processing payroll twice a month in both ADP and LSS for 3 offices
- Sending out Fee Reports to all attorneys from bi-monthly payroll
- Entering AP invoices, billing into large client electronic systems, and processing quick checks
- Reconciling all bank statements, entering ACH, wires, and mailed checks into LSS, and processing in the bank
- Preparing and processing daily cash reports and monitoring cash flow
- Dealing with vendor / invoice issues and working with assistant / attorneys / clients regarding past due invoices
- Handling new case calls and ordering supplies for all offices
- Working yearly with health insurance brokers on new rates / new employees and assisting with onboarding / training on LSS
- Collaborating with outside accountant on taxes, K-1s, preparing 1099’s, and processing 401K deductions / yearly reports
- Managing cash requests / wire transfers, preparing staff performance review reports, and handling all insurance renewals (Liability, EPLI, Cyber etc.)
- Calendar all contract, 401K deadlines
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, 5+ years of relevant finance / accounting experience in a law firm, strong knowledge of finance / accounting software such as LSS, ADP, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
