The Mississippi Department ofEducation has a current goal for every community to effectively usea worldclass data system to improve student outcomes.

This goal hasan outcome to increase the availability of quality data to drivedecisions that improve student outcomes. MDE is planning to satisfythis goal in part by modernizing its current student informationsystem along with improving the quality of data in connectedsystems.

This will include webbased application development and thecreation of dashboards and reports that will improve accessaccuracy and ease of use for all stakeholders.

Thisposition will require a qualified Quality Assurance Analyst to takethe lead on the following tasks :

Supportthe planning design and execution of system testing on simple andcomplex implementations

Translate businessrequirements into valid test plans and detailed testcases

Work collaboratively with the ITdepartment and business units to execute and validate test casesbased upon system requirements

Testsoftware and computer applications to ensure they function properlyand efficiently

Develop and share testingreports with project team

Document newdevelopment (User Guides Systems Guides other)

Must be able to collaborate with theProject Manager Architect Business Analyst and developers to ensuretest cases are communicated accepted and meetexpectations.

Must be able to write testplans test cases and test scripts from scratch validating that userexpectations are achieved during the testing process.

Must be able to work closely with the Business Analyststo formulate test plans prepare test cases execute the tests andfully document and report the results.

Mustbe able to perform user acceptance testing functionality testingregression testing performance testing and endtoend system testingon various applications.

Documentation includes : Formal Test PlanTest Case Document Technical Use Cases and Test Plan User storiesetc.

Must be able to review userrequirements to ensure that requirements are testable.

Mustbe able to create diagrams flowcharts and workflows of data flowthrough systems.

Must be able to create andmanage test cases for Quality Assurance.

Must be familiar with software and database developmentconcepts.

Must have experience as a QualityAssurance Analyst working on a software developmentteam.

Must have strong experience in QAmanagement and creating all documents listed above.

Must have strong experience in mapping businessprocesses into test case documentation.

Mustunderstand software quality best practices test strategy andplanning test case development test case deployment and executiontest data defect tracking and test manuals.

Must activelyparticipate in process improvements.

Strongexperience in acceptance testing
