Assistant Controller

Job Description :

This critical accounting role supports the realization of Dimensional’s Corporate Finance Priorities by providing leadership over a multi- year journey to optimize the Company’s accounting close process, through investments in people, process & technology.

The objective of this role will be to oversee the core accounting activities and drive continuous improvement and optimization of the Corporate Finance department on a global basis.

This role will also play a critical part in the execution of various strategic, technology- led projects focused on process enhancement and automation.

This person will support the design and execution of financial accounting and reporting, payables, fixed assets and leases.

In addition, this role will play a key part in the execution of multiple automation initiatives to enhance the Company’s ERP platform, as well as driving process improvements throughout the financial close process.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Vision & Strategy : Support the execution and deployment of financial and reporting processes that ensure compliance with GAAP and mitigate risks of misstatement.

Continuous Improvement Assess current accounting operations and talent, offering recommendations for improvements, and implementing new processes.

Accounting & Controls Manage the global accounting and control functions of the organization in order to produce timely and accurate monthly financial statements, with direct oversight over financial operations including Accounts Payable, compensation & benefits and general ledger accounting.

Accountable for the development, deployment, and implementation of all company policies, procedures, and practices to safeguard the assets of the enterprise and to properly reflect its financial results.

Accountable for the accurate and timely interpretation of GAAP and the accurate incorporation of such interpretations into the company’s financial records.

Oversees and controls the general accounting activities for the enterprise, including recording company transactions, classifications, and reconciliation of account balances in accordance with US GAAP and company policy

Data Integrity Provides robust, reliable data with consistent definitions to present a single view of the financial and business facts to support management decisions

Accounting Policy Oversees and directs accounting questions and judgments for the enterprise; directs and controls the accounts for the firm’s balance sheet.

Ensure compliance with business regulations and current on the latest accounting standards

Audit Oversees and is accountable for planning and execution of the annual audit, through an external public accounting firm, for the firm.

Assist with the management of global statutory audits. Functions as the enterprise subject matter expert and principal point of interpretation on all matters resulting from dealings with external accountants and auditors

Team Leader Attract, develop, motivate, and manage a high-performance and high-potential team

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

8 - 12 years of progressive and relevant controllership and accounting experience with private industry experience spanning a global enterprise.

Big Four, Financial Services or Asset Management experience a plus, but not required

A CPA license is required

Knowledge of the Oracle Cloud environment preferred, but not required.

Experience building and upskilling a team of high- performing accountants, ideally managing and developing teams of 10+ individuals

Leadership presence and demonstrated ability to drive change and execution in an evolving environment

Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills needed to effectively share and engage with internal stakeholders

Personal drive, energy and the ability to work effectively in a hands- on action- oriented environment
