Summary :
Primary job function is to work closely with the Evaluation department and quote all repair jobs. This includes reviewing Cylinder Inspection Reports to make sure the scope of work is correct, researching material and subcontract pricing, discussing lead time with the Production Manager and making sure all by items are called out correctly on the evaluation form.
Responsible for filling out all applicable strip reports and helping to maintain the database of the job instructions on repeat orders.
Technical responsibilities include finding answers to shop questions, communicating information to and from the customer, and assisting the expeditor to keep production flowing smoothly.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Review cylinder inspection reports and evaluations to ensure the scope of work is correct and complete.
- Work closely with the evaluation technicians to ensure accurate information is provided to price out the repair.
- Understand and apply shop labor rates, material, and sub-contract labor markup according to instructions set forth by Yates Management.
- Ensure buy items are called our correctly on evaluation form so that the Expeditor can create a proper BOM.
- Research material and sub-contract pricing
- Communicate lead times with Production Manager to arrive at dates that will meet customer needs as well as fit into production schedules.
- Log items that need reverse engineering and assist the Engineer with technical information as well as checking drawings as needed.
- Review approval drawings for new cylinders before manufacture and make sure the drawings match the sample and Yates standards as the customer standards are being followed.
- Enter quote information into M2M and report daily progress to the Production Manager
- Fill out applicable strip reports as well as final inspection reports as needed.
- When new information relative to the repair is presented by the customer, the Estimator / Tech Specialist will ensure all information is processed correctly and the affected parties will receive this information.
- Act as a liaison between the customer and shop floor to make sure critical information is communicated both ways in a timely manner.
- Assist with the cylinder sign in process as well as administration duties like shippers and creating purchase orders.
- Manage incoming / outgoing jobs to schedule weekly runs to Indiana Steel Mills and line up trucking to get cylinders to and from the customer based on information supplied by our sales force.
This included managing our driver as well as outside trucking when necessary.
Reviews cylinder drawings and other information provided by customers to schedule the right sized truck that can accept the cylinders we are picking up or delivering on the Indiana runs.
This includes reviewing actual footprint of cylinder as well as weight.
- Works on special projects as deemed necessary by Yates Management.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
