Job Summary
This position is located in the College's Employee Engagement and Resource Center. The position manages all employee relations issues for the college, serving as the primary contact for employee concerns and complaints.
It oversees employee training and development, ensuring leadership is informed about employee issues. Additionally, the position is responsible for the team that implements all employee engagement programs.
The role includes supervising the HR Analyst and HR Specialist Sr., providing development and support, while also providing consultation at all levels throughout the college.
Essential Functions
35% - Employee Engagement : Fosters a culture of employee engagement within the college. Develops and implements innovative programs that enhance employee well-being, recognition, and development, thereby boosting morale and job satisfaction.
Involves organizing comprehensive training, wellness, and employee development programs designed to support the personal and professional growth of all staff members.
Creates an environment that values continuous learning and acknowledges achievements, this position ensures that employees are motivated, engaged, and committed to the college's mission and goals.
35% - Employee Relations : Oversees all aspects of employee relations to maintain a harmonious workplace, managing discussions on employee performance, behaviors, and misconduct.
Facilitates conflict resolution, enforces professional conduct standards, manages complex issues, (e.g., escalated concerns, discipline and termination activities) acting as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
Identifies resource needs, implements best practices, ensures compliance with regulations, and coordinates staff development.
Oversees ADA and FMLA matters, ensures the college adheres to these critical regulations while addressing escalated employee concerns and fostering policy development for fairness and accountability.
30% - Administrative and Strategic Management : Leads the development and execution of the day-to-day program strategies, focusing on employee relations as part of the college's strategic pathways.
Includes the management of 4DX goal-setting processes, maintains accurate employee records, conducts industry standard research, trends, best practices, and generates detailed analytical reports to foster informed decision-making.
Plans, organizes, assigns, supports and supervises assigned staff, ensures they are equipped and motivated to meet their objectives.
Ensures that projects are aligned with the college's strategic objectives and guidelines, effectively utilizes data to guide and enhance organizational performance.
This comprehensive approach helps maintain a productive team dynamic and supports the organization's overall growth.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, business or public administration, or related field, four (4) years of related program management experience that includes two years of lead or senior level work, preferably in an educational setting.
Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, business or public administration, or related field, six (6) years of related program management experience that includes two years of lead or senior level work, preferably in an educational setting.
High School Diploma / GED from a regionally accredited institution in education, business or public administration, or related field, eight (8) years of related program management experience that includes two years of lead or senior level work, preferably in an educational setting.
Desired Qualifications
A. Extensive experience in developing and implementing employee engagement programs : Demonstrated ability to create and manage innovative programs that enhance employee engagement, well-being, recognition, and development, contributing to improved morale and job satisfaction within HR and / or Employee Services environment.
B. Expertise in handling complex employee relations issues : Requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience in managing discussions related to employee performance, behavior, and misconduct, including conflict resolution, coaching, employee development, discipline, and termination processes.
Must have proven ability to enforce professional conduct standards and manage sensitive issues effectively within HR and / or Employee Services environment.
C. Proficiency in regulatory HR compliance and procedure development : Must have in-depth knowledge of ADA, FMLA, and other HR relevant employment laws.
Experience in ensuring organizational adherence and interpretation to policy, regulations and developing procedures that promote fairness and accountability.
D. Leadership in strategic management and program execution : Strong background in leading strategic planning and execution within an HR or Employee Services context, including experience with 4DX goal-setting processes and the ability to produce and analyze detailed analytical reports to guide decision-making.
E. Advanced supervisory and team development skills : At least three (3) years of supervisory experience required, with a focus on supporting, mentoring, and developing staff to achieve high performance and alignment with strategic objectives.
F. Strong communication and interpersonal skills : Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective liaison work with internal and external stakeholders, as well as for facilitating training, coaching, and wellness program within HR and / or Employee Services environment.
Special Working Conditions
May require prolonged computer viewing. May be required to work at multiple sites or locations. Travel to campus during interview / selection process will be at candidate's own expense.
