Research & Development

Key Responsibilities

To support the Consumer Safety Line Manager in completing the assigned safety assessments of raw materials and complete formulations in the Home, Hygiene and Consumer Health segments.

• Work collaboratively with the Category Teams to establish and implement product safety and risk assessment strategies within agreed timescales to bring competitive advantage to Reckitt brands.
• Generate the global, core regulatory dossier and relevant human health safety assessments to deliver a pipeline of product innovation in the assigned Category segment(s).
• Work with cross function teams to ensure on-going regulatory and safety compliance of Reckitt's existing product portfolio.
• Work closely with external partners, contractors and licensees to ensure that product safety issues are properly managed and resolved.
• Ensure hazard and risk assessments, and risk mitigation information for products are carried out in accordance with Reckitt policies, guidelines and statutory requirements globally.
• Ensure products are properly categorized for hazard per global requirements and guidelines.
• Ensure that hazard and risk mitigation information is incorporated into core Product Safety Data Sheets (PSDS) for products in accordance with Reckitt policies and statutory requirements.

Key Challenges

• Work across different categories globally and keeping abreast of product regulatory requirements and ingredient safety issues within all Reckitt product categories.
• Ability to respond in a timely manner to many and varied product safety issues which impact on both existing products and new product developments.
• To keep on top of product / chemical safety legislation and changes to regulations impacting Reckitt products and businesses and ensuring that the appropriate people are aware of potential issues and that necessary action is taken.
• Facilitate the relationship with Category Development (R&D, Global Marketing), country Marketing, Supply and other functions to ensure the "seamless" building of safety compliance in our project and product portfolio.

Qualifications

• M.S. (minimum 2 years' experience) / Ph.D. (0-1-year experience) level in Toxicology or a related discipline.
• Experience in an environment of regulatory toxicology and product safety preferred.
• Competent at reviewing toxicology (human and / or environmental) and related chemical safety data.
• Demonstrated ability to handle competing priorities effectively.
• Results oriented, entrepreneurial and self-motivating.
• Excellent organizational skills.

US salary ranges

USD$75,000.00- $125,000.00

US pay transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law.

In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
