Patient Access Supervisor
Description
This position is an on-site role, and candidates must be able to work on-site at Anderson Mercy Health
Patient Access Supervisor supports the overall operation and is responsible for all admitting functions of the hospital.
The supervisor ensure compliance with corporate policies and guidelines and completes timely evaluations on their team members.
This role is responsible for reporting process and overall patient and physician satisfaction. The incumbent must be able to handle stressful situations and provide decisions using sound judgment.
Must have the ability to handle multiple requests and deliver a high level of customer service, setting the example for all patient access staff.
Ensures staff receive appropriate training and is responsible for the adequate staffing of their area 24 hours a day 7 days a week, including holidays.
Experience :
- 3-5 years' experience in healthcare patient access or business office required.
- 2-4 years of previous management or supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare environment, required.
- Excellent working knowledge of the hospital revenue cycle required.
Education :
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or a Healthcare related field preferred. High School Diploma / GED Required
Licenses / Certificates :
Must pass the Certified Revenue Cycle Representative examination offered through the Healthcare Financial Management Association within 120 days of hire, unless already certified.
Skills :
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Uses AIDET with each encounter.
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
- Advanced computer and internet skills to include but not limited to Microsoft Office and EMRs.
- Ability to work and concentrate in a busy work environment with frequent interruptions.
- Leadership skills, as well as, the ability to motivate and lead in a team-based productivity environment
- Adaptability to changing procedures and growing environment
