Systems Administrator II

Provide systems administration (implementation, management and operational support) and technical expertise for assigned systems, including provisioning, installing, configuring, tuning, operating, and maintaining systems hardware and software and the related infrastructure.

Provide technical research, system planning and improvement to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure and technical services.

Perform troubleshooting and solving of complex hardware and software problems as they relate to assigned systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute data migration and backup strategies for NetApp storage and AWS.
• Exposure to ServiceNow and JIRA would be desirable
• Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for internal knowledge base.
• Perform moderately difficult and independent assignments in the troubleshooting, problem diagnosis, problem resolution for one or more technologies.
• Implementing and configuring storage systems, including storage area networks (SANs), network-attached storage (NAS), and cloud storage solutions.
• Monitoring storage performance and capacity, and optimizing storage resources for optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Developing and implementing data backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data availability and integrity.
• Contribute towards development of operational reporting including daily health check reports, capacity / performance reports, and incident / problem reports.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
• SAN Administration & Zoning.
• Proficiency in managing PURE Storage : Hands-on experience.
• Hands-on Proficiency in AWS Storage Services, i.e. S3, FSxN, EFS, and EBS.
• Hands-on / Basic experience in managing Windows and Linux systems.
• Professional experience in administration, configuration & operational support of Storage Platforms (NetApp, ECS etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

• SAN Administration & Zoning.
• Proficiency in managing PURE Storage : Hands-on experience.
• Hands-on Proficiency in AWS Storage Services, i.e. S3, FSxN, EFS, EBS
• Professional experience in administration, configuration & operational support of Storage Platforms (NetApp, ECS etc.).
• Working knowledge of LAN / WAN network infrastructure : cabling, switches, routers and hubs, and acceleration / de-duplication devices.
• Experience writing scripts in one or more of the following administrative languages : a shell, Tk, Perl, VBScript, and python.
• Conceptual knowledge in some of the following IT areas : servers, database, web hosting, capacity planning, performance analysis, and virtualized systems containers.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with proven ability to collect and present meaningful system statistics and other metrics.
• Experience with Automation (E.g. Ansible, Terraform).
• Proven experience in PURE Storage & NetApp storage for administration, including configuration, maintenance, monitor storage systems & perform ONTAP GUI / CLI operations, installation, upgrade, backup / restore, and file system configuration for CIFS / NFS / iSCSI.
• Experience with Brocade / Connectrix Switches.
