Lab Technician
JOB DESCRIPTION
Description :
Tasks May Include : (Essential roles, responsibilities and activities a candidate may expect)
- Set-up and run laboratory experiments
- Analyze test specimens
- Perform tasks on projects relating to materials selection and corrosion testing and analysis. This includes experimental setup, data collection and data reporting.
- Inspection, testing, repair, and installation of equipment.
- Works in one or more areas of technical expertise to develop the capability of working independently on project activities while performing their work under supervision of the project investigator.
- Assists more experienced Technicians, Technologists and professionals on technical assignments.
- Follow the Safety, Health Environmental and Quality Assurance program on projects for which he / she is performing the work
- Record research activities performed in lab book
- Other duties as assigned i.e. solution preparation, cleaning test cells, moving items throughout the lab, calibrating equipment (following a prescribed procedure)
Qualifications :
- Chemistry experience or knowledge (From degree or work experience)
- Strong Mechanical aptitude (able to trouble shoot and utilize tools)
