Full Stack Software Engineer | The Points Guy (NodeJS, React)

The Points Guy, a Division of Red Ventures, is looking for a talented Full Stack, Software Engineer to join our team in Fort Mill, SC, NY or Puerto Rico.

We’re looking for experienced, professional engineers with go-anywhere, do-anything attitudes to build value for our customers and our team.

Yes, you should write clean, performant, testable code in a variety of languages across our microservices. But you’ll also dive into logs and metrics with our Engineering team and take responsibility for the way your code performs in the cloud.

You’ll pair up with automation engineers to isolate and eliminate bugs. You’ll collaborate with our security team for audits and penetration tests.

You’ll talk with product management to align code to customers’ needs. You’ll sync with data analysts and data scientists to build rich AI-enabled experiences and make sure we can build a clear understanding of how to improve our products.

You’ll have the opportunity to present interesting work and celebrate wins at our biannual internal tech conferences.

What You'll Do :

  • Design and develop UX rich, accessible and search optimized front end applications using html5, typescript, design systems like tailwind and frameworks like react, nextjs
  • Design and develop robust, scalable, and efficient backend services using NodeJS based backend services like nestjs, express
  • Provision and maintain applications in a cloud environment with infrastructure as code tooling like terraform, cloud formation.
  • Develop and maintain operational excellence with tools like cloud watch, grafana, newrelic.
  • Leverage service-oriented architecture and event-driven systems to build scalable solutions.
  • Manage and optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with the team to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Contribute to the entire development life cycle, from concept to release.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and other engineering teams.
  • Ensure that all systems are designed and implemented with high security and data protection standards.

What We're Looking For :

  • Proven experience as a full stack Engineer or similar, 3+ years experience.
  • Proficiency in typescript, react, nextJs, nestJs, express.
  • Proficiency in writing unit and integration testing.
  • Familiarity with other programming languages such as java, php, elixir is a plus.
  • Knowledge of content Management systems such as wordpress is a plus.
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture and event-driven systems.
  • Experience with relational and non-structured databases
  • Familiarity with AWS
  • Prior working experience operational excellence tools like grafana,cloudwatch, splunk, new relic, rollbar.
  • Strong understanding of the entire development process (design, development, deployment).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Demonstrated "can do" attitude with a willingness to tackle and solve complex problems.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Compensation

USA Compensation Range : $80,000 - 120,000 New York City Compensation Range : $100,000 - 150,000 *Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
