Payroll Manager
Location : Dobbs Ferry, NY
Position Overview
The Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing across multiple pay groups and bargaining units. This role requires someone who can hit the ground running and take ownership of complex payroll operations in a fast-paced municipal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle payroll processing for 4,000+ employees across 20 different pay groups
- Manage weekly and bi-weekly Board of Education payroll
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery across multiple bargaining units
- Coordinate various pay schemes and compensation structures
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and departmental leadership
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
- Generate payroll reports and analytics as needed
Required Qualifications
5+ years of progressive payroll management experienceProven experience managing payroll for large employee populations (1,000+ employees preferred)Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and compliance requirementsExperience with multiple pay groups and bargaining unit structuresAdvanced proficiency in Excel and payroll systemsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlinesStrong communication and interpersonal skills
