Position Summary
The University of Denver is seeking motivated and qualified lifeguards to start this summer season. Lifeguards play a crucial role in the safety and health of the DU community.
This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.
Essential Functions
- Prevent and respond to any and all emergencies quickly and appropriately.
- Prevent emergencies from arising by enforcing all rules and regulations.
- Perform daily maintenance tasks to ensure the safety and heath of patrons and the facilities.
- Attend scheduled quarterly inservices to maintain proper training.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Willingness to learn and comply with our facility specific health and safety procedures.
- Ability to sit and stand while maintaining focus for extended periods of time.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and professionally with other faculty, staff, and patrons.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 16 years of age.
- Current American Red Cross lifeguard certification, or willingness to obtain a Red Cross lifeguard certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous lifeguarding or aquatics experience.
Work Schedule
Flexible shifts available from 7 : 45am to 8 : 30pm. This includes weekends and holidays.
