Director of Business Development
Our client is seeking a Director of Business Development to drive growth, establish strategic client relationships, and lead pursuit opportunities for their diverse service offerings. This role is ideal for a seasoned construction industry professional with a passion for strategy, business development, and relationship building.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and update annual business development plans for target market sectors
Stay informed of the competitive landscape and create strategies to differentiate the company
Lead the creation of marketing and proposal collateral
Partner with management on strategic market initiatives
Build and maintain business and sales relationships across multiple levels of accounts and stakeholders
Generate leads and engage senior management to maximize opportunities
Collaborate across teams to address business opportunities and explore cross-selling potential
Lead RFQ and RFP responses, presenting compelling value propositions
Identify, qualify, prioritize, and track pursuit opportunities
Stay current on industry trends and participate in trade shows and networking events
Work to meet and exceed sales targets within assigned market sectors
Manage the sales pipeline to ensure timely pursuit and successful outcomes
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in the construction industry with strong emphasis on sales and strategy development
Proven success in winning business in challenging markets
Experience in the multifamily industry preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong business, finance, and operations acumen
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
