Senior Associate Relations Specialist
American Honda Finance Corporation is seeking a Senior Associate Relations Specialist to join our Human Resources & Administration team. This role is pivotal in fostering a positive and compliant work environment by partnering with supervisors and managers across departments. You will lead associate relations efforts, manage leave of absence processes, support performance management, and ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
Key Accountabilities
Associate Relations
- Lead initial responses to associate relations concerns and manage non-escalated issues to resolution.
- Coach and advise supervisors and managers on performance, attendance, employment laws, disciplinary actions including written warnings and terminations, and other associate relations matters.
- Conduct impartial investigations related to associate relations and ethics.
Performance Management
Assist in developing and implementing Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).Provide coaching and guidance to management on performance-related issues.Leave of Absence Management
Oversee the LOA process, including coordination with third-party administrators and ensure compliance with leave policies.HR Administration
Respond to unemployment insurance, EEOC, workers' compensation, and DFEH claims.Prepare and submit appropriate documentation and responses.Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Education : Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business, or related field required. PHR / SPHR certification preferred.Experience : Minimum 12 years of HR experience, with at least 10 years in a generalist or associate relations capacity. Call center and / or large non-exempt population experience are preferred.Skills & Knowledge :Strong knowledge of employment laws (ADA, FMLA, FLSA, EEO, etc.).Proven experience in resolving employee relations and performance issues.Skilled in conducting investigations and handling sensitive matters with discretion.Ability to influence and coach managers effectively.Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels.Proficiency in HR systems; familiarity with SAP SuccessFactors is a plus.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Salary Range : $72K - $90K annual
