Description :
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled School Sign Language Interpreter to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will work closely with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, providing interpretation services to facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and staff.
Responsibilities :
- Provide sign language interpretation and transliteration services during classroom instruction, school activities, and meetings.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure the inclusion and success of students with hearing impairments.
- Assist in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with hearing-related needs.
- Maintain accurate records of interpretation services provided and student progress.
Qualifications :
- Valid Nebraska Sign Language Interpreter certification (NIC, EIPA, or equivalent).
- Experience working as a sign language interpreter in an educational setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of deaf culture and understanding of diverse learning needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
