Aerial Lineman
Aerial Lineman Location : Charlotte, The Aerial Lineman will provide ground support for aerial linemen installing telecommunications networks to residential and / or commercial addresses.

- Use equipment to install ground rods, anchors
- Handle materials such as fiber optic cable reels
- Be comfortable working with power tools and hand tools
- Comfortable working off of ladders as needed
- Ability to safely operate aerial lifts, such as bucket trucks / vans and boom lifts
- Occasional digging of holes
- Follow safety and traffic control regulations in accordance with DOT guidelines
- Maintain a safe work environment by following codes, standards and legal regulations
- Ability to maneuver large vehicles with limited visibility safely
- Work safely at all times utilizing the necessary Personal Protection Equipment
- Drill holes for aerial attachments in wooden or metal poles as needed
- Install wire strand per design
- Use of aerial tools such as chain hoist, lifting straps, cable lasher, etc
- Setting of telephone poles up to 60’ in height
- Supervise and work with ground crew for optimum efficiency
- Document construction progress through written and photographic documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Ability to climb and work at elevations (e. g. , from ladders, poles, lift trucks) exceeding 18 feet
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Ability to work in confined spaces (e. g. , attics, crawl spaces, utility holes)
- Ability to perform strenuous physical activities including, but not limited to : lifting and / or pulling objects weighing over 100 pounds several times a day
- Ability to perform job activities outdoors in different weather conditions (e. g. , extreme cold and / or heat, inclement weather)
- When working aloft, employee's weight and tools combined may not exceed the 280-pound weight limit as specified by the manufacturer
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
- Demonstrated sound judgment and decision making
- Bend / squat / kneel / stand frequently
- Safely using weight-bearing equipment (such as safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of that equipment
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, work in a dynamic fluid environment and effectively cope with change
- Ability to pass pre-employment screenings (motor vehicle, drug, and background)
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE :
- Valid Driver's license with satisfactory driving record
- Experience working with aerial drops is a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS
- May be required to work long and unpredictable hours including nights and weekends
- Working outdoors in all types of weather
- Exposure to dust, fluctuating temperatures, and periodic high noise levels
