Job Summary
We are seeking a licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team! In this role, you will diagnose and treat psychological disorders, teach communication skills, assist patients in addressing dysfunctional behaviors, and guide them through crises.

Responsibilities
- Provide office-based and telehealth therapeutic counseling to adults and their families, with rare home visits when necessary.
- Provide culturally responsive (trauma informed and social justice lens) comprehensive assessments and develop quarterly service plans for individuals and families.
- Responsible for all required OMH and clinical documentation and communication with clients.
- Provide minor social services.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including but limited to GTR’s international staff, outreach workers, health educators, etc.
- Develop and facilitate groups designed to meet the needs of clients.
- Monitor client’s treatment and comply with all required documentation in a timely manner.
- Ensure continuity of services for clients and collaborate with other social service agencies to provide wraparound services for clients.
- Train community leaders in mental health facilitation.
- Present clinical issues and research found at the center to community groups, churches, other nonprofits, and at conferences.
- Special projects as required.
Qualifications
1. Licensed : LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent by the state of New York.
2. Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling or related field.
3. At least two years post-master’s experience.
4. Multicultural competence and training, including but not limited to critical race theory.
5. Specialty and training in psychological trauma and PTSD.
6. Willing to go through extensive training in trauma and multicultural competence.
7. Excellent writing skills, and ability to submit documentation on a set timeline.
8. Proficient computer skills (ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and electronic submission of treatment plans).
9. Thorough understanding of DSM-V-TR mental health diagnoses and treatment approaches for adults.
10. Evidence-Based Practice model of treatment (i.e. MI, CBT, TF-CBT, EMDR, etc.).
