The primary purpose of the role is to provide a full spectrum of legal property advice in relation to acquisition, divestment and redevelopment, leasing, renting of Crown property.

Note : Preference will be given to Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Wahi Ora candidates.

Mōu About you

In this role you will ensure accuracy and compliance of property information and provide expert and technical advice and solutions for property, leasing, and rental matters.

In addition, you will undertake investigatory and other work to support Crown property transactions, as well as improve business processes to ensure property assets are managed to best advantage, including mitigating Te Whatu Ora / Crown risk exposure in a property specific context.

  • Degree in Property Management or similar
  • 10+ years skills and experience, including Senior Leadership experience (or consulting or professional body at the organisational level) within a similar role
  • Managing a sizeable, leased property portfolio, consisting of both expense and revenue leases whether gross or net
  • Oversight and management of all leases, rent reviews, expiries, renewals and maintenance obligations
  • Experience in developing a standardised suite of fit for purpose lease instruments
  • Experience negotiating leases, and understanding of all lease instruments, and landlord and tenant obligations
  • Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills to drive required consistency and ensure compliance in a matrix reporting environment
