System Administrator

System AdministratorHRSTS - San Antonio, TX - Full TimeSystem AdministratorDTSI is seeking a System Administrator to maintain the infrastructure of a mission critical enterprise environment ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency.

This role involves managing servers, networks, and other critical systems to support business operations effectively while implementing a SaaS solution for the United States Air Force (USAF) at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) - Randolph Air Force Base (RAFB).

ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers running Windows, Linux, or other operating systems.

Monitor server performance, availability, and security.Implement and manage server updates, patches, and upgrades.Troubleshoot server issues and perform root cause analysis.

Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

Implement network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.Configure and maintain network services such as DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.

Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard the organization's systems and data.Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Respond to security incidents and conduct forensic investigations when necessary.Maintain and update antivirus software, firewalls, and intrusion detection / prevention systems.

Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.Regularly backup critical data and test recovery procedures.

Implement redundant systems and failover mechanisms to minimize downtime.Provide technical support to end-users on hardware, software, and network-related issues.

Set up and configure user accounts, permissions, and access controls.Train users on IT systems and best practices.Maintain helpdesk ticketing system and prioritize support requests.

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.Provide training to staff on IT policies, procedures, and new technologies.

RequirementsProven experience as a System Administrator or similar role.Proficiency in administering Windows and Linux server environments.

Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.

Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and tools.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

EducationBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Experience will be considered in leu of degree.
