The successful candidate for theCategory Advisorposition will have a substantial impact on the success of Daisy Brand sales and growth by working closely with the marketing and sales teams to provide data analysis and insights that identify key selling opportunities.
Additionally, the candidate must have strong relationship building skills and match the Daisy Brand sales and marketing teams’ personality and culture.
Position Responsibilities :
- Understanding the industry, consumer, shopper, and cultured category trends and providing impactful business recommendations to achieve both Daisy Brand and customer goals.
- Serve as the expert on using syndicated POS and Panel data to identify sales trends, competitive threats, brand, and customer strategies to increase sales and market share.
- Providing fact-based data driven recommendations against key growth drivers, to assist with category business reviews and ad-hoc sales / marketing needs.
- Create best-in-class planograms optimizing assortment & shelf space.
- Perform analysis to optimize promotion and pricing to drive brand and category growth.
- Integrate information from many data sources and design and prepare effective sales presentations with win-win retailer & Daisy Brand sell stories.
- Building strong partnerships with cross functional team members.
- Assist in developing and maintaining foundational category and brand insight presentations to support sales goals (e.g.
new item, defensive stories).
- Leveraging all retail specific tools and platforms available, be the champion user for the team and incorporate opportunities into customer sell stories.
- Keep up with best practices and departmental developments to improve capabilities and professional skills.
- Continuous improvement of processes and selling presentations.
Key Qualifications :
- 5 + years of Category Management / Analysis / Insights experience within the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry.
- 3-5 years’ experience in analyzing and interpreting data.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
- Strong knowledge of syndicated and panel data (IRI, NIQ, etc.) as well as utilizing space management software (Apollo, JDA ProSpace, etc.).
- Knowledge and experience working with customer data systems (Retail Link, etc.)
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team as well as individually.
- Ability to tell a story with data.
- Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
