TheSenior Database Architect is responsible for the analysis designdevelopment and implementation of the data architecture in supportof the agency mission.
The Senior Database Architect will architectthe analytical data systems including data warehouse(s) datalake(s) and data mart(s) as best meet the agency requirements.
TheSenior Database Architect is familiar with a variety of thedatabase technologies concepts methodologies practices andprocedures and rely on experience and judgment to plan andaccomplish goals.
Database Architects perform a variety ofcomplicated tasks with minimal or no direct supervision. Theyassist in defining system and application architecture and providevision problem anticipation and problemsolving ability to theagency.
They consult with the client to define needs or issuesconduct research perform studies and surveys to obtain data andanalyze problems to advise on or recommend solutions utilizingknowledge of theory principles or technology of specific disciplineor field ofspecialization.
Possessesextensive knowledge of one or more database systems and is capableof handson work in all phases of database design andmanagement.
Three (3) years of experience working with Microsoft SQLServer.
Four (4) years of experience in designing data model andarchitecture to support high performance high availability dataanalytic functions for relational (structured) unstructured andspatial datasets.
Determines data structural requirements by analyzing clientoperations applications programming reporting analytics andinformatics;
reviewing objectives with clients; and evaluatingsystems.
Develops reliable and scalable database solutions through designingand implementing proposedsystem
Defines database physical structure functional capabilitiessecurity backup and recoveryspecifications.
Produces data flow diagrams and flowcharts; applying optimum accesstechniques; coordinating installation actions; and documentsactions.
Participates in the identification prioritization and developmentof technical initiatives andstrategies.
Works with database analysts to develop methodologies report viewsqueries analytical cubes and tablereplications
Performs systems analysis on database and resolves performancecapacity and replication issues asnecessary.
Ensures that all data is in the properformat.
Develops and maintains database standards and namingconventions.
Keeps up to date on emerging database architectures technologiesand methodologies and attends training classes asnecessary.
Understands and knows best practices regarding application ofdifferent analytical data solutions such as data warehouse datalakes or data marts from the ground up in support of anorganizationinitiative.
