About the Job
Sodexo is seeking a General Manager 5 – Food for MedStar Georgetown University Hospital located in Washington, DC. MedStar Georgetown is one of the D.C. area's oldest academic teaching hospitals. We are looking for an experienced leader with a passion for innovation, training, process improvement, and team building. This position will oversee all food services for the 609 licensed hospital, including retail, patient, and catering services.
What You’ll Do
Have oversight of day‑to‑day operations.
Deliver high‑quality food services including retail, catering and patient meal management operations.
Achieve company and client financial targets and goals.
Develop and maintain client and customer relationships.
Develop strategic plans.
Ensure HACCP, regulatory and standards compliance.
What You Bring
A work history demonstrating strong leadership skills, previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively.
General Manager Food & Nutrition leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
Experience managing in an union environment.
Outstanding client relationship skills and strong financial acumen.
The ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service.
The ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Proficient in computer skills and report management experience.
Position Summary
Directs all contract management service operations at a single account / unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior‑most person assigned to one client account.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
5 years minimum management experience.
