We are looking for a Senior Accountant in the Central Office that will be r esponsible for accounting and financial functions for Midas managed hotels and investment platforms.

Primary responsibilities include the following : monthly closings, overseeing accounts payable, cash management and annual budget preparation.

The Senior Accountant will also be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.

What does the day to day look like?

• Review and record journal entries required to reflect the monthly activity
• Preparation of work papers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances
• Complete monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
• Preparation of monthly financial statements
• Assist in preparation of annual budgets
• Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances
• Preparation of monthly forecast incorporating historical results and future assumptions
• Oversee accounts payable associates to ensure accurate and timely production of all financial information
• Assist in the implementation, documentation and maintenance of adequate and effective internal controls
• Research accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other transactional discrepancies
• Maintenance of fixed asset records
• Preparation of workpapers supporting the annual tax returns and financial statement audits
• Assist in the preparation of financial records and reporting for ownership entities invested in properties
• Assist in management company billing for all properties
• Assist Director of Finance with any tasks conducted within the department
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Who is our ideal candidate?

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• 5+ years of professional experience, preferably in property management or real estate investment industry
• Good GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience utilizing NetSuite a plus
• Has strong work ethic with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Is highly organized and detail oriented but conscientious about timeliness of responsibilities and quality of work products
• Has strong writing and communication skills
• Has intellectual curiosity with passion to solve problems
• Is a team player with positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills
• Is highly motivated, self-starter with desire to assume additional responsibilities
