The Position
We are seeking a detailed-oriented Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join our Commercial Bankruptcy team. This position will report to practice group attorneys for work assignments and prioritization. Successful candidates will have excellent communication and time management skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Essential responsibilities of the position will include :
Draft correspondenceCommunicate with clients, opposing counsel, judicial administrative staff, vendors and courtsState and Federal Courts document filingsSchedule and prepare documents for meetings, depositions, hearings, etc.Perform records research, review, and analysisMaintain attorneys' calendar for deadlinesOrganize and maintain electronic client / matter filesSchedule and coordinate hearings, meetings, lunches, conferences and marketing related mattersSchedule travel and accommodationsEfficient workflow to include; duplication, scanning, mailing, proofreading and merging of documentsAccurate input of attorney time into Time and Billing systemTasks associated with the opening of new clients / matters in Case Management programPreparation of expense reports, check requests, trust depositsNotarization of DocumentsOther administrative and billable tasks as assignedRequirements
Ideal candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications :
Minimum 3 years of experience with Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and Federal court filingsExperience preparing legal documentsAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing prioritiesMust be a self-starter, professional, and team playerExcellent oral and written communication skillsEnjoy working in a detailed oriented, collaborative environmentTechnical skills to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Kofax, and OutlookCommitment to providing consistent high-quality work productExcellent organizational skillsFamiliarity with governmental e-filings and document management systemsExperienced in document / case management programs, and time / billing softwarerecblid jcay8dak8da49a24yv3ba3nmrpo5pt
